## Proven Thermal Energy Storage. Engineered for Impact.

More than a decade of thermal energy storage development, proven across industrial and utility deployments.

## Charge. Store. Dispatch.

Developed over more than 10 years, the bGen™ system is a solid-state thermal energy storage solution engineered for high efficiency, durability and industrial-scale operation.

At the core of bGen™ is a modular thermal-storage unit filled with crushed rock—an abundant, stable and non-toxic storage medium capable of repeated thermal cycling at temperatures up to 650°C (1,200°F).

Electricity from renewable generation or the grid is converted into heat by embedded electric heaters and retained inside a highly insulated vessel. When industrial demand calls for energy, bGen™ dispatches the stored heat as high-temperature steam, hot air or thermal oil. This allows energy purchasing to be separated from heat consumption while maintaining the temperature, pressure and availability required by the industrial process.

The modular architecture scales from individual industrial installations to large energy infrastructure. Minimal moving parts support low maintenance and a long operating life, while fast response and integrated controls enable load shifting, demand management and coordinated operation with renewable generation, batteries and the grid.

The technology has been deployed across industrial and utility settings, including Enel in Italy, the Tempo brewery, SUNY Purchase College with the New York Power Authority, and FORTLEV in Brazil.

## How we build a bGen™ system

A bGen™ installation is configured around the customer’s heat demand, operating profile and available electricity supply. Modular storage units, electric charging, heat exchangers, process integration and digital controls are engineered as one operating system.

## Powered by bGen™

Transforming electricity into dispatchable industrial heat—the foundation that lets Brenmiller Europe optimize electricity and heat together. Energy can be charged when renewable production is available or electricity prices are favorable, stored safely as heat and dispatched when the industrial process needs it.

## Generation flexibility. Operational flexibility.

Consume, generate, store and shift energy according to cost, availability, reliability and carbon intensity. Bi-directional optimization supports predictable energy pricing for industry while creating valuable flexibility for the grid.

## Complete energy freedom

One partner for clean electricity and industrial heat—built, owned, operated and optimized end to end. Brenmiller Europe combines bGen™ with generation, flexible assets and digital control to deliver resilient energy infrastructure at the best available market cost.

## Frequently asked questions

### What does bGen™ use to store thermal energy?

bGen™ uses crushed rock inside an insulated, modular thermal-storage unit. The rock retains heat until energy is needed by the industrial process.

### How is the bGen™ system charged?

Embedded electric heaters convert electricity from renewable generation or the grid into heat. The insulated storage vessel retains that heat for later use.

### What forms of heat can bGen™ supply?

bGen™ can support industrial steam, hot air, hot water and thermal oil applications. The installation is engineered around the customer’s process requirements and heat-delivery conditions.

### Why separate electricity charging from heat delivery?

Thermal storage allows energy to be charged when renewable electricity is available or electricity prices are favorable, then dispatched when the industrial process needs heat. This separates the timing of electricity purchasing from heat consumption.

### How is a bGen™ installation configured for a site?

The configuration starts with the customer’s heat demand, operating profile and available electricity supply. Modular storage units, electric charging, heat exchangers, process integration and digital controls are engineered together as one operating system.
